SILVER FILIGREE KHAMSAS
These pendants were hand crafted in Tafraoute, a small town in the High Atlas mountains.
The strips of silver that create the internal pattern are the tiny metal bands used in filigree work. And the colour is made from ground lapiz, carnelian or malachite.

KHAMSA EARRINGS
Little khamsa "hands" are created from twisted silver wire inside a five fingered outline. An oval of turquoise colour completes the look.

FIBULA PENDANTS
These rather fragile little pendants are also made in Tafraoute, using the same techniques and materials as the khamsas at the top of the page.
This fibula is of great significance in Tafraoute and there is a large sculpture of a traditional fibula in the centre of the town.

ANTIQUE SILVER FIBULA
One of a very old pair of coin silver fibulae which show appealing wear from long usage.
The central diamond and the little "khamsas" suspended from it are decorated with simple geometric engravings. Each fibula is completed by vintage "turtle" closures
